Membership Requirements

Sigma Lambda Xi's membership requirements ensure that our organization is made up of committed and dedicated individuals who share our values of brotherhood, service, integrity, and culture. We seek members who are at least 21 years old, have a track record of community service work, and align with our mission to make a positive impact in the world. To become a member, interested individuals must attend an interest meeting, sign our Code of Conduct and Anti-Hazing Policy, complete a membership application, and demonstrate how they meet our core values. We welcome anyone who shares our passion for service and leadership, regardless of their educational background or professional status.

Our Policies

Sigma Lambda Xi is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all of our members. We believe that all individuals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. To that end, we have adopted a strict no-hazing policy. Hazing, which is defined as any activity that causes or could potentially cause physical, emotional, or mental harm or discomfort to an individual, is strictly prohibited in our fraternity.

Our fraternity members will not engage in any form of hazing, including but not limited to:

- Physical abuse or harm, such as paddling, hitting, or punching.

- Psychological abuse, such as belittling, shouting, or intimidating.

- Sexual misconduct, such as sexual harassment, assault, or coercion.

- Forced or coerced consumption of alcohol or drugs.

- Forced or coerced behavior that is dangerous, illegal, or harmful.

- Any activity that goes against the values and principles of our fraternity.

Any member found to be participating in or promoting hazing will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the fraternity. Additionally, the fraternity will cooperate fully with any law enforcement related to hazing.

We encourage all members to speak out against hazing and to report any incidents of hazing immediately. Sigma Lambda Xi is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all members and will take all necessary steps to prevent hazing from occurring.

We recognize and reward accomplishments, whether it be on the job, in their church or place of worship, getting a promotion, or completing a continuing education course through annual awards, social media posts, and in our private chat groups. We hold local meetups where we do a service project together and have bonding time over a nice meal. We love team building like going to escape rooms or other recreational bonding activities.

  • No. We do believe education is important but our organization was created to give those individuals who may not of had the opportunity to attend college a chance to join our organization.

  • No. We understand how finances can be challenging these days we live with a high cost of living, high-interest rates, and everything going up but your paycheck. Details will be provided once you are selected for the intake process.

  • We are a unique organization that places value in developing our members to their fullest talents, abilities and potential which leads to a productive and fulfilling life. We celebrate individuality and always encourage self-improvement to uncover your greatest qualities.

  • The unique feature of our organization is you define where the need is in your own community. We use many creative ways to give back to the community. Our members have done park cleanups, Feed My Starving Children, supported local food banks, volunteered at 5K Walks, sock and warm blanket drives for the homeless, have prayer at nursing homes, volunteered for Special Olympics, and passed out meals to first responders to name a few.
